Eitz Or Shabbat and holiday services are characterized by their warmth and inclusiveness. We believe in participation, with members taking part in joyful music and chants, group aliyot to the Torah, guided visualizations, prayerful movement, meditation, and heartfelt interactions. Our siddur (prayerbook) and practice are egalitarian. At Eitz Or, there is no pressure to take part. Anyone is welcome to sit quietly, or to try things out in order to learn what spiritual experience works best for you.

Where We Meet: Eitz Or holds most Shabbat services at the University Unitarian Church (UUC), which is located at 6556 35th Ave. N.E. in Seattle.

Our Service Schedule: Eitz Or holds a monthly Shabbaton with a visiting leader, from October through June, on the 3th Shabbat weekend. A typical Shabbaton includes:

• A Kabbalat Shabbat service on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. (6:30 for Come Home to Shabbat dinners)
• A Shabbat morning service at 10:00 a.m., followed by a vegetarian potluck lunch.
• A class or workshop offered by the visiting leader, usually at a member's home.  Day and time at the discretion of the leader.

We also offer lay and locally led services and events at members homes.  Check our calendar for dates and times.  Contact info@eitzor.org or call our hotline and leave a message, requesting location information. 

Come Home to Shabbat: Periodically, on Friday evenings, Eitz Or hosts "Come Home to Shabbat" around the Shabbat table, with blessings and songs that young children, elders, and everyone in between will love! Check our Calendar for upcoming dates.
