Spiritual Leaders

arikArik Labowitz is a dynamic educator and leader committed to connecting people to the Jewish tradition in meaningful and relevant ways. Arik comes from a diverse Jewish background and especially identifies with couples and families who are looking for a connection to Judaism outside of a traditional synagogue setting. As a service leader, Arik interweaves Chasidic teachings and soulful melodies, and opens up the transformative essence of Jewish prayers to all levels of participants.

Arik comes from a family of rabbis and has spent most of his adult life in Jewish leadership roles. In addition to devoting years of study and practice to the Jewish tradition, Arik has gleaned wisdom from other spiritual traditions of the East and West.

In the past two decades Arik has worked professionally with small communities and synagogues like ours. He has recorded two CDs of Jewish Music under the title Simu Lev, and has been privileged to produced CDs for several talented musicians as well.

 

Rabbi Sarah Rubin Rabbi Sarah Niebuhr Rubin is a writer and educator dedicated to building and restoring relationships between individuals and in communities. Ordained in 2007 by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, she served as rabbi of Congregation Ahavas Achim in Keene, NH, and has held rabbinic and educator positions in Reform, Reconstructionist, Conservative and unaffiliated congregations.

 In 2014, Rabbi Sarah returned to her native Seattle with her husband and son to be near family. She is the author of fiction and poetry, and practices and encourages writing as a spiritual practice.
